Iranian short film ‘Gabriel’ has won awards at the Berkeley Video & Film Festival in the US.

Directed by Yousef Kargar grabbed the grand prix for the best foreign film and best cinematography awards at the 29th edition of the event.

The flick narrates the story of a father who is in a real quandary. He has to decide under difficult conditions among love, faith, and conscience.

Back in April 30, the film was shown at the 20th Ivy Film Festival in the US.

The cast includes Yousef Yazdani, Shabnam Yousefi, Ali Mokaram, Sina Faramarz, Manzar Asghari, and Rasoul Omranifar.

Founded by award winning independent filmmakers who were involved with the "independent underground cinema revolution" in the early and mid-1960's, The Berkeley Video + Film Festival was created in 1990 to provide a venue for independent film and videomakers creating works that challenge and confront our notions of "Electronic Cinema".

The 29th edition of the event is currently underway from October 26 – November 1, 2020.
